“Look! There is flowing a Crimson Tide,”

On Wednesday, Alabama could close out what would have seemed impossible just a few short years ago. Nick Saban is on the verge of closing out the top recruiting class in the nation, and the way he has done it is simply amazing. Saban has trekked throughout the country seeking out the best players to fit into his system, and in turn has found that the state of Alabama has enough talent alone. With the majority of Alabama’s commitments coming from the state of Alabama, Saban has single-handedly harvested the state’s best players. Auburn, however, has only been able to manage a few in-state players. If all goes as planned, this trend will continue.

Since the onset of Coach Saban’s beginnings of this year’s recruiting class, Alabama has gained the talent needed to destroy Auburn’s reign of success. With the 2008 Iron Bowl, Auburn fans and players will be looking to notch number “7″ into their minds. However, Alabama now has the coaching, talent, and support needed to oust the Tigers from their reign of “excellence”. The Crimson Tide will, in due time, reassure fans from Opelika who the top team in the state is now. Coach Saban has already overtaken the recruiting slot, it’s only a time before the state and SEC dominance slots are overtaken.

As the Tide roll into the 2008 season, one can only imagine the demeanor an Auburn fan, as well as fans from other schools in the SEC, will gain. Some would speculate that it is a severe inferiority complex, however, there are better explanations for other fan base’s outlook on Alabama. Dominance is the first point that comes to mind. Throughout history, Alabama has dominated virtually every opponent it has faced in the SEC.  With winning records against, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,LSU,Ole Miss, Mississippi State,Tennessee and Vanderbilit, it is easy to see why so many fans have hatred for Alabama. Needless to say, appreciation for a winning program has never been prominent amongst opposing fans.

On the issue of Auburn, there are many reasons why Tiger fans dislike Alabama. Some of them feel as if they have been cheated. Some of them feel as if they were being “used”. Still, others are convinced that Coach Saban is playing them dirty, and negatively impacting their recruiting. Moreover, the only way Saban is negatively impacting Auburn is by snatching up valuable recruits from the fields of Opelika and the rest of the state of Alabama. Never has it crossed these fans minds, in most cases, that Saban is a state-of-the-art recruiter. Simply put, the man does far more with his time, and receives far more for his work, than any one could have ever imagined. Trust me when I say this: the success attained by Auburn while Alabama was on probation is coming to an end. It is ending very fast. Think “Iron Bowl 2008″.

Alabama is rising, and the state of the SEC is soon to be addressed by the tide. A storm is brewing, and the Crimson Tide are looking to take Auburn’s success away from them. No longer will Auburn be plucking the state’s top recruits. Saban is changing the way things work in the SEC West, and he is doing it fair and square.  The dominant feeling that was ever so prominent in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s is quickly returning to Tuscaloosa. There is a vibe amongst the students, fans, players, and recruits that hasn’t been felt since a certain someone was at the helm.

The Tide is flowing, and Auburn and the rest of the SEC are being swept off of their collective feet.
